Hong Kong - The Return

Back in Hong Kong and this time we've got friends!

We arrived in Hong Kong late on a Saturday night, so didn't do much other than sleep when we got to our hotel in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. When we got up on Sunday and went out to explore, we were amazed at all these women who had filled any space in the shade with a picnic rug and were thoroughly enjoying themselves, chatting, eating and drinking, which you can see in the 1st photo. We later found out that they were Indonesian domestic workers, who have their only day off on a Sunday and just head to meet their friends for a cheap day out in the shade. We were literally stepping over and around them at some points to get passed!

The 2nd photo Andrew took of Shivani and her shadow. Can you tell which one is Shivani? Andrew couldn't and almost went home with a Chinese replica!!

The 3rd photo is of our friend Tarang, who met us with his sister Aparna on the Monday. He was absolutely amazed at how good the Hong Kong underground system (MTR) was. Not only was it clean, air-conditioned and efficient, but you could use your mobile phone on it.

The last photo is of Tarang and Aparna enjoying Yum Cha at a famous restaurant called "Maxim's Palace". They had flown all the way from the UK to join us for 5 days in Hong Kong; it was really nice to see them both and they'll feature in our further posts from Hong Kong.
